About me

E-mail Print PDF

From my earliest memories I have always been creating things... As a little girl I used to create the most beautiful mud pies and decorate them with wildflowers. I've always been fascinated with clay, taking basically nothing and turning it into something. I remember the first day of school seeing the block of clay at my desk and being so excited to see what I could turn it into. That fascination never left me even after graduating from Nursing School, getting married and having children. I always dreamed of being an Artist in Clay. That dream finally came true after studying under Benjamin Culbertson for two years in ceramics and glaze formulation at our local college. Since then I've taken a workshop from a Japanese master potter and classes from Bill Van Gilder of Frederick Pottery School and DIY television. As a part of my studies our class did a salt firing at Del Martin's" Fox Cross Pottery." There is always so much to learn about pottery and there never seems to be enough time.
